Empowering farmers with practical knowledge and innovative solutions for efficient on-farm water management
AQUAGRI-KNOW is a three-year, EU-funded project focused on improving water management in European agriculture.
In collaboration with 12 EIP-AGRI Operational Groups (OGs) – partnerships of farmers, researchers, and advisors – the project promotes innovative and sustainable practices to address growing water scarcity and quality challenges. By bridging the gap between research and on-farm implementation, AQUAGRI-KNOW supports farmers in adapting to climate change and securing long-term water resilience.
13 organisations from 5 countries are enhancing sustainable and efficient on-farm water management by adapting and scaling innovative solutions.
AQUAGRI-KNOW aims to build on the achievements of 12 Operational Groups (OGs) from five EU member states—Spain, Belgium, Cyprus, Poland, and Italy. These groups have been dedicated to advancing sustainable water management across both industry and agriculture.
Efficient and smart water management is a critical priority for farmers across Europe. The engaged OGs have developed a range of innovative solutions including remote sensing, digitalisation in land and water management, plant breeding, crop rotation and strategic recommendations for every stage of the water cycle—from sourcing and storage to distribution, application, and wastewater management.
