Today, we officially launched the AQUAGRI-KNOW project in Vic, Spain!
A programme with an ambitious initiative to develop innovative, farmer-friendly solutions for sustainable water management.
The Kick-off meeting started with inspiring words from Sergio Ponsá Salas – Director of BETA Technological Center and Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya) and Josep Eladi Baños – Rector, UVic-UCC, and representatives from the Government of Catalonia. Participants then explored key AKIS policy objectives, the role of public administration in research, and the potential of thematic networks to drive knowledge exchange.
Carla Febrer Sanglas from BETA TC, setting the stage for a collaborative and impact-driven journey. As she put it: ”Our expectation is not only to optimise water use, but also to help develop roadmaps to replicate innovative solutions for effective water management and set a new standard of sustainability in agriculture across Europe.”
The day continued with dynamic networking sessions, discussions on project management, communication strategies, and an insightful visit to the BETA Tech Centre.
Over the next three years, AQUAGRI-KNOW will bridge the gap between research and practice, ensuring that innovative water management strategies become actionable solutions for farmers. Stay tuned for updates and join us in shaping a more sustainable future for agriculture!
