What are OG's

As part of the EU’s efforts to foster innovation in agriculture and rural development, EIP-AGRI Operational Groups (OGs) bring together experts from diverse fields to collaborate on practical solutions.

An OG typically consists of farmers, researchers, advisors, businesses, and NGOs, all working together to address challenges and find opportunities in agriculture, forestry, and rural communities. By combining their knowledge and expertise, these groups aim to develop innovative approaches, implement them in real-world contexts, and share the results broadly.

The current Common Agricultural Policy (2023–2027) supports the preparation and implementation of OG projects through national CAP Strategic Plans, building on the foundation set during 2014–2022 when OGs were funded under Rural Development Programmes.
